What makes a trainer chunky?
A deep, oversized sole with layered panels and an exaggerated profile, rather than a slim runner’s sole. Luminara Rift, Void Synapse and Quasar Pulse keep it all-black and Monolith Flow adds electric-blue lines; Gravion Pulse comes in light grey, Vyronix Edge in army green, Cosmo Veil in graphite grey and Stratosphere Blaze in off-white, beige and black. A few pairs are chunky skate-style trainers.
How to wear chunky trainers
Chunky soles balance relaxed and straight-leg jeans, cargo trousers and cuffed joggers. Very skinny trousers can make them look oversized, so let the hem sit on or just above the trainer.
Chunky or platform?
Chunky trainers have a sculpted, layered sole; platform trainers keep a flat, even sole raised like a skate shoe. If you prefer the cleaner shape, see men’s platform sneakers.
Are chunky trainers still in fashion?
Yes. Oversized soles are still a streetwear staple, and they suit the relaxed and wide trouser shapes worn now.
Do chunky trainers make you look taller?
A little: the thicker sole adds some height compared with a slim running trainer.
Do you have chunky trainers in black?
Yes. Most of our chunky styles come in black; see all men’s black sneakers.

Finding your size
Every pair is listed in EU sizes with UK and US conversions. Most chunky styles run from EU 38 to EU 45 or 46 (UK 5 to 10 or 11), and some go up to EU 47 or 48 (UK 12 or 13). Measure your foot from heel to toe and choose the size that matches, or the next size up if you’re between two. Each product page has a heel-to-toe size guide, and our shoe size chart has the full table.
